End of the Obama Presidency


America is finally coming to its senses.  The collapse of Iraq and the children immigrant fiasco along the southern border are proving to be a bridge too far for the American public. Barack Obama's poll numbers are now officially worse than George Bush's post-Katrina. Even Chuck Todd of NBC News declared the Obama presidency over.  A progression of not-so-phony "phony" scandals has knocked the new Messiah off his pedestal notwithstanding the efforts of a supplicant press to shore him up.  Now the press is left scrambling trying to salvage liberalism itself and Hillary Clinton's presidential bid. 

 Even more onerous for Obama is the ever so slight but growing possibility of impeachment.  Ultimately it will be a political decision within the Democratic Party and the liberal press.  When the powers that be reach the conclusion that continuation of his presidency would destroy the chances of a Clinton presidential election victory in 2016, Obama will be out the door much the way Nixon was.  Among all of the scandals, it will be like the one that sank Nixon…abuse of the IRS.  It is clearly illegal and something the public understands. The disappearance of the emails is reminiscent of the 18 minute erasure in the key Nixon tape.  Déjà vu all over again!!!

Impeachment solves two problems in internal Democratic politics.  Joe Biden gets to be President for a while at the same time clearing the path for a Hillary nomination with two years or so to clean up Obama’s mess.  Democrats keep eyeing left of Hillary for a possible challenger.  I think it will come from the center-right of the Democratic Party.  Watch out for West Virginia’s Joe Manchin. 

Whether Obama is impeached or not, historians will study Barack Obama for the next hundred years.  It is a fascinating chapter in American history.  At issue will be the motivation behind his bizarre behavior.  Is he a true ideologue tone deaf to the American public in pursuit of a Utopian vision?  Is he a Citizen of the World that secretly disdains the United States and its “flawed” Constitution?  Is he simply a narcissist that started to believe his own political hype?  Is he purposely disengaged or is it just laziness?   Is he the smartest President we have ever had…or the dumbest?

Conventional wisdom seems to side on the side of his brilliance, which may be true.  But as my Aunt Josephine used to say, he is so smart he’s stupid.  My biggest disappointment in Obama is that I thought if nothing else he would bring some street smarts to the Presidency especially in foreign policy.  I haven’t seen it.  If anything it has been the opposite, a policy filled with fear, indecision and incompetence.

I am not happy about the position in which Obama is finding himself.  Unfortunately, it is also the position of the country particularly in foreign policy which is a debacle.  But that is the fallacy of liberalism.  In the real world, human nature is human nature.  Evil exists.  You cannot hide from it or “lead by example”  or wish things were different. 

The country is in a bad spot right now.  I pray for wisdom from the leaders of both political parties.

Hope vs. Aspiration

New and Improved: Big Bosomed Women Who Party

Of all the words in the English language that I have learned to fear and despise, the phrase that sends chills up and down my spine the most is "new and improved."   The new part is probably right, at least partially, but the improved is open to question.   It usually translates to confusion, work, and money.   This is especially true of the computer geeks at Google, You Tube and Facebook, along with all of my stock programs.   Those are particularly aggravating because I actually pay a monthly fee for some of these digital age gems.
